Step 2

Application
To apply for 2019-20, children should be 2y 9m by September 2019 (Birthdates between June 2015 – December 2016). Applications for the 2019-20 school year are available online beginning August 15, 2018. The application deadline for priority consideration for preschool is December 10, 2018. The sibling application deadline is November 2, 2018. Applications received by the priority deadline are guaranteed a parent interview and play date appointment. Applications received after the priority deadline are scheduled for a parent interview and play date only if time permits. The final application deadline is January 14, 2019, applications received after January 14, 2019 are considered on a rolling basis as space allows. Please create a Parent Portal account to begin the application.

Please note that we do not hold wait lists for future years. Please apply the year before your child ages into the program.

Admission decisions take developmental readiness into consideration. If your child’s DOB just misses an age cutoff, please contact the admission office to discuss applying.

Step 3

Teacher Recommendation
For children who already attend a daycare or preschool program, please send the recommendation form directly to your child’s teacher through your Parent Portal checklist. If your child is not enrolled in a daycare or preschool program, please contact Naomi Austin in the admission office via phone at (310) 574-8650, x146 or email at naustin@wns-la.org. Preschool play dates are scheduled on school day afternoons in January. The play date is a 45-minute classroom visit with a small group of applicants. We recommend that only one parent attends per child to allow enough space in the room for the children to feel comfortable. Children will have play time followed by a short circle/story time. (If you have participated in our Parent/Toddler program in the past or are currently registered for sessions one and/or two for the 2018-2019 school year, your child does not need to attend a play date.)
